František Palacki University (UPOL)
Palacki University was founded in 1573 and is the second oldest university in the Czech Republic. The university consists of 8 faculties. The training is conducted according to 243 curricula accredited by the Ministry of Education of the Czech Republic, 18 of them are taught in a foreign language. Palacki University has more than 23,000 students, which is a fifth of the total number of residents of the city of Olomouc.
Olomouc University is among the top five research universities in the Czech Republic. The most popular faculties among foreign students are: Medical, Philosophical and Faculty of Natural Sciences.

Entrance exams: Students can take a creative, written or oral exam, depending on the chosen specialty. Some are asking to take a National test on the prerequisites for learning.
Faculty of Physical Culture

Entrance exams: Applicants can take a written test (depending on the specialty), an essay, an oral exam or an interview.
Faculty of Theology

The main conditions for admission to Palatsky University:
- Confirmation of completed secondary/higher education;
- Certificate confirming the level of proficiency in the Czech language not lower than B2;
- Successful completion of entrance tests (depending on the faculty).
Previously, in order to stay in the Czech Republic, expelled foreign students bought language courses to extend their residence permit. As a rule, they applied for such a service to the same centers where they studied and prepared for admission to the university.
The situation escalated around such schools, which stamped papers for renewal. Mostly students who dropped out of universities due to insufficient knowledge of the Czech language. Apparently, the migration authorities decided to break this vicious circle and stop the legalization of stay in the Czech Republic.
